The  2020’s saw a boom in population for the city, turning it into an international hub for commerce and industry, the city quickly urbanized to accommodate its new population.

While the city was developing upward, it also developed outward, but due to a slew of legal and political reasons, low density zoning laws for these new outwardly growing areas were never updated.

The high population was spread out among miles and miles of low density housing, The roads kept widening and widening as more demand increased.

Eventually, the entire area was paved over, and all cars synchronized and controlled by a computer network. Creating a concrete desert where cars zip around every direction in perfect synchronization, colloquially known as "The Sprawl"
